Corporate Philanthropy
Corporate philanthropy is not a one-size-fits-all approach, or a simple donation of money. You must tailor your giving in a way that is unique to each company. Corporate philanthropy is just as important to the organization as it is to the community. We are living at a time when people are increasingly looking for jobs that give them purpose and reflect their values. Potential job seekers, employees, and customers alike are eager to see their company making a positive impact in the community.
WellHealth Cares
Founded in 2014, WellHealth Cares was the philanthropy group I created within our company, WellHealth Quality Care. Working with non-profit organizations we were able to use our small yet mighty group of volunteers to do the following:
2014
75 volunteer hours served
5 local organizations aided
$23,000 donated
2015
150 volunteer hours served
6 local organizations aided
750 meals served to the homeless
$75,000 donated
2016
500 volunteer hours served
16 local organizations aided
3,600 meals served to the homeless
$150,000 donated
Volker Foundation
After Hurricane Maria hit the island of Puerto Rico, the Volker Foundation reached out to create awareness and help aid the island. I was fortunate and able to assist with the creation of their website, video, social and community partner outreach efforts.
During the medical mission, over 500 patients were seen in just 2 1/2 days. The team set out on foot one day to visit a senior center, set up a make-shift clinic on a remote part of the island and assisted people on the streets as they could.

Service Squad
In 2017, after WellHealth Quality Care was acquired by DaVita, I joined DaVita Medical Group's local philanthropy group, Service Squad. While a part of the governing team I was able to help recruit WellHealth Cares volunteers into the overall squad and assist in new volunteer projects.
My proudest moment was running logistics and coordinating breakfast, lunch and dinner with community partners for the week after the October 1st shooting in Las Vegas. Our team was stationed outside UMC and Valley Hospital feeding victims’ families and caregivers.
Capability Caring - Transformation Holidays
As families dealing with the financial devastation that CoVid19 caused, Christmas was not a possibility for many of the families seen within the clinic.
I organized a task team to nominate those most in need of gifts and food for the holiday. We raised over 8,000 in gifts and food donations to give to over 25 families.
